EASTBOURNE BLIND SOCIETY
OUTINGS AND HOLIDAYS
Eastbourne Blind Society arranges a number of day trips each year. On past occasions, we have visited France and have recently made trips to Rochester, Portsmouth, Hever Castle, Cliveden and various other places of interest around the country.
An annual holiday is arranged for interested members and is accompanied by staff of the Society.
Recent holidays have been in Weston-Super-Mare, Teignmouth, Weymouth and Babacombe. There have been short "Turkey and Tinsel" breaks in Bognor Regis 2009 and 2010.

The 2011 Holiday
A number of our members had a most enjoyable holiday to the Lauriston Hotel, Weston-super-Mare from 28th June to 1st July. Outings included trips to Cardiff, Wells and Exmouth.

members and sighted facilitators enjoyed this year's holiday to
Babbacombe in Devon which included outings on a steam train and on a
river boat. There were trips to Buckfast Abbey, Widdecombe in the Moor,
Paignton, Torquay, Dartmouth and Babbacombe model village.
Nightly
entertainment was enjoyed by the majority with dancing. Many took
advantage of a trip to the theatre.
A
heated swimming pool in the hotel grounds prove to be a magnet for a
small energetic group.
